William Pearson

William Alfred "Bill" Pearson, Sr. was born on May 26th, 1946 to Mr. & Mrs. Odis and Mathie Dell Pearson in Little Rock, AR. He was one of 17 children which included 9 boys and 8 girls.

Bill attended Tulsa Public Schools and upon graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served 23 years for our country. After his retirement he then joined the United States Postal Service. Bill was a Union Steward and Safety Coordinator for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a mentor and teacher with strong determination. His teaching included boxing, karate, football and softball. In addition he was a great sharpshooter. He loved to hunt and fish.

He is preceded in death by both parents; 5 brothers, Thomas, Odis, Dewayne, Mike and Harold; and 1 sister, Bobbie Jean. Bill leaves behind a loving wife, Frances (Smith) Pearson of the home; 4 daughters, Shirl, Shawn, Antionette and Anita; 3 sons, William Jr., Vaughn and Curtis; 7 sisters, Julia, Delores, Linda, Brenda, Janice, Janet and Carol; 3 brothers, Marcus, Ronald and Reggie; 22 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and many great friends.

Bill will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home, 3841 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK. A funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Harvest Time Outreach Ministries, 2333 E. 48th Street North, Tulsa, OK. He will be laid to rest 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, OK.
