William Ray McCarty, 83, died on Monday, December 4, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born November 18, 1923 in Avant, Oklahoma the son of Leo and Avis Ruth (Barber) McCarty. He worked for the Fred E. Cooper Company where he was a Cost Accounting Clerk. He served our country during World War II in the United States Air Force. He married Helen Louise Hinds on June 7, 1943. They have made their home in Tulsa for many years where they were members of the Will Rogers United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen; his son, Dale R. McCarty of Adair, OK; his daughter, Penny Lynn Chambers and her husband Mike of Catoosa; his sister, Betty White and her husband Bud of Hope, Arkansas; 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee McCarty. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7th in the Will Rogers United Methodist Church with interment following in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the Will Rogers United Methodist Church, 1134 S. Yale Ave., Tulsa, OK 74112.
