William Lee Holland
Obituary
William Lee Holland was born January 31, 1934 in Sarcoxie, MO to Willis Jefferson & Irene (Blackburn) Holland and passed from this life on January 14, 2016 at the age of 81.
Leaving his educational pursuit early William enlisted in the United States Air Force in Carthage, MO in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He began his career in civil service in 1956 in the mail service, then the Southwest Power Administration and the Department of Interior from which he retired in 1986. He was a Boy Scout Club Master for many years taking 18-20 boys on regular camping trips regardless of the weather. He enjoyed teaching them survival skills, helping them earn their badges and merits as well as equipping them with life skills that would serve them throughout their lifetimes. William was also a member of the Cosmopolitan Club of Tulsa, VFW, Mason Lodge 71, and the American Legion. He was a member of Sandusky Avenue Christian Church and had served as a deacon for the congregation.
William was preceded in death by his parents and his infant sister. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Jean (Brown) Holland; his sons and daughter-in-laws, Michael & Lisa Rene Holland and Gary & Lisa Michelle Holland; his grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley Rene & Atul Swamy, Tabitha & Sean Robinson, Amanda & Andrew Peruzzi, Rachel Burgess & Jeff Sanders, and Allen Holland; and 5 great grandchildren.
Memorial service 10:30 A. M. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Sandusky Avenue Christian Church, 1101 S. Sandusky Ave., Tulsa, OK.

I met Bill as a teenager going to school with Gary, always a good man and good father love to here his old air force stories especially after I returned from the gulf war. It gave us a commonality even with the age gap. The world was a better place for having had Bill in it. May God Bless him and his family at this time

Bill was a great person and employee of mine for many years at SWPA. Always smiling and friendly and a good worker. Bill and Jean were always fun to be with at our annual office Christmas parties. He will be missed by all who knew him. Jean, you and the boys and their families will be in Bobbye and my prayers.
