William H. Van Deusen, Jr. was born March 19, 1926 in Ralston, OK to William Henry Van Deusen, Sr. and Bernice May (Scott) Van Deusen. He passed from this life in Tulsa, OK on April 1, 2015 at the age of 89.
Bill, as he liked to be called, grew up in Ralston, OK with his parents and sisters whom. He worked with his dad at the Sand Plant, later he worked at the Rock Crushing Plant. An accident put him in a body cast which forced a career change. He became proficient as a bulldozer operator in the oil field. He built the roads and prepared the pads for the oil rigs and was also a tool pusher. He later came to Tulsa and began working with his brother-in-law in the air conditioning and heating business. From there he started his own company, Bill's Air Conditioning & Heating, remaining there until he retired.
Always devoted to his wife and contrary to being told that their marriage wouldn't last, Bill and Lila saw 4 days shy of 70 years of marriage before the woman he always said was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen died.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lila Mae (Schafer) Van Deusen; his son, Ricky Scott Van Deusen; and his sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Alana Atwell and her husband, Brian; his son, Randy Bill Van Deusen and his wife, Phyllis; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Bill will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and his funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, all at Ninde Brookside Chapel. He will be laid to rest in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.

If I start talking about my great uncle Bill...I'll talk forever... He and aunt Lila were the best. Great couple, aunt/uncle & people! I will miss them terribly... R.I.P, my dear Uncle Bill. You and Aunt Lila were always like my second Dad and Mom, and especially so, after I lost my own Mom and Dad....I will never forget the wonderful treasury of memories you left behind. Though our hearts are aching, we are happy for you that you and your one true love are 'Together Again'...in Heavenly peace, wholeness, and love...eternally!! We love you, and are praying for your children...that God will strengthen and sustain them through their time of grief, and fill them with His "peace that passeth all understanding".
