Virginia Madeline (Abbott) Howerton was born August 2, 1921 in Sunset, Arkansas to Caleb & Beulah (Smiley) Abbott and passed from this life October 23, 2011 at the age of 90.
Hobbies she enjoyed were square dancing, quilting and crocheting. She loved her family, friends and her church.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Raymond Lee Howerton; her brothers, Ernest Abbott, Roy Abbott & Frank Abbott; Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce & Bill Bickell; her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond & Kay Howerton; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; and 5 step great great grandchildren.
Virginia will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Oologah United Methodist Church, Oologah, OK. She will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, OK.
