Virginia Bodley

Virginia Lee (Evans) Bodley was born in Tulsa, OK on December 26, 1917 to Ralph E. and Lena Evans. Virginia's father came to Tulsa in a covered wagon when he was 2 years old. Virginia went to be with our Lord on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the age of 95. She will always be remembered for her love of family and friends. No matter what, she never missed a social gathering.

Virginia graduated from Tulsa Central High School and then attended Oklahoma State University where she was, and has remained an active member of her beloved Chi Omega Sorority. She then attended the University of Tulsa where she met and soon married, Ted C. Bodley.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Tulsa oilman, Ted Bodley; her son, Ted Bodley, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Lorie Rupe Lord. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Billie Evans of Katie TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and John Rupe, Kay and Barry Holmes, Sandy and Larry Sims; daughter-in-law, Carol Bodley; grandchildren, Sandy Rupe, John Rupe, Jr. and his wife, Amonica, Shelley Holmes, Riley Holmes and his wife, Sarah, Evan Sims and his wife, Ryan, and Elliott Sims; great grandchildren, Ashley, Chase and Hunter Lord, Brittany and Tanner Whitescarver, Grant and Griffin Rupe; nieces, Jennifer Rose of Houston TX, Janice Thompson of Katie TX and Julie Fitzgerald of Houston TX.

The family would like to thank the loving people at Town Village, St. John Hospice and Clarehouse.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home, 39th and Peoria. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, April 12, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in the Kerr Chapel.
