Vernon Stafford

Vernon Vincent Stafford, 89, died on Saturday, February 9, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born July 14, 1918 in White Hall, Arkansas the son of Edward and Edna (Shelton) Stafford. He lived in Los Angeles, California most of his life where he worked as a cook for the Hilton Hotels. He worked hard for those he loved. He and his wife moved to Tulsa five years ago where they have made their home ever since. He came into the knowledge of the Bible truth and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1976. He was a faithful servant until his illness. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christine Elizabeth Walker; one son, Vernon Stafford, Jr.and his wife Leteshia; grandsons: Daimion, Jerrion and Terrion; three step-grandchildren: Johnny, G.O. and Emonica. He also leaves a devoted cousin Wanda Fay Perry of Vinita, OK as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.Services will be 11:00 Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Medowbrook Heights Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses, 2626 N. Lewis Ave. Interment will follow in Rolling Oaks Cemetery.
