Syble Lockart

Syble Medlock Lockart was born on April 12, 1919 on Culpepper Mountain, AR to Amos Tuck Medlock and Beatrice (Leavells) Medlock. Syble passed from this life on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the age of 93.

Syble served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged as a Yoeman First Class. While in the Navy she met Harold Lee Lockart and they were married on October 19, 1945 in Washington, DC where she was stationed. They later moved to Tulsa where she retired after working for 35 years for the First American Abstract and Title Company. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Tulsa.

Syble was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, on April 3, 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Tommi Smith, of Memphis, TN; a son, Harold "Lee" Lockart, Jr., of Tulsa, OK; 3 sisters, Amy Grant, of Little Rock, AR, Jennifer Sloan, of Norman, OK and Savannah Mason, of Fairland, OK; 4 grandchildren: Brian Lockart, Drew Pate, Lindsey and Heath Lockart and 2 great grandchildren: Oliver-Drew and Isabella Pate.
