Sybil Barton

Sybil Marcella Barton, 88, longtime resident of Tulsa, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in the St. Francis Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the Southminster Presbyterian Church. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on the family plot in the Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Mrs. Barton was born on November 6, 1923 in Kingsland, Arkansas to Edward Taylor and Ethel (Morgan) Estes. Sybil was the youngest of four children.

She was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church since 1964. She attended church most Sunday's while she was able. She regularly delivered for Meals on Wheels and coordinated meals for the homeless shelter from Southminster. She had remarkable grace and dignity from the inside out. She touched those around with her engaging smile, even through her difficult las few months.

Survivors include her son Hank and his wife, Toni of Tulsa; a granddaughter, Hayley (Barton) Vann and her husband, Kevin of Tulsa; a grandson, Joe Barton; and two great grandchildren, Tatum and Jenna Vann.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph Barton on June 22, 1995 and her brother, W.B. Estes.
