Obituary
Linda Sue “Susie” Mullins, 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025.
Born December 20, 1943, in Sacremento, California, Susie was the daughter of Winifred Marie Largent Black and W.D. Black. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Black.
Susie earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern State University. She was passionate about learning and teaching, and her life reflected a deep respect for knowledge, compassion, and community.
A proud Democrat, Susie was known for her sharp mind, kind spirit, and steadfast values. She was a talented quilter, a disciplined gardener, an avid reader, and a lifelong lover of travel and American history. She found joy in good books, meaningful conversations, and time spent with those she loved most – her family, friends, and her beloved dogs.
Susie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Marc Benarrous; her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Amber Mullins; and her cherished grandchildren, Katie, Meghan, and Sam Mullins.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in the Rose Chapel at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
Susie will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, humor, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Susie was a very nice lady, and I did appreciate her political views! She was a good seamstress and quilter! She loved to make special birthday cakes for her Grandchildren! She was my daughter's Mother-in-Law, and she was good to her, and my daughter loved her so much! She was also a good Grandma to all her Grandchildren! Meghan and Sam loved her so much! They were my Grandchildren and also her Grandchildren! She will be truly missed!

Aunt Susie was a very special lady. Always sincerely interested in what was going on in your life and looked you straight in the eye when listening. She had a kind heart and rarely, if ever had harsh things to say unless it was about politics in our FB Messages! Ha ha! and which I joined right in there with her! Susie Q I love you and will miss you and your hugs.

We will miss her so much. Christmas’ spent in her home were something I always looked forward to as a kid and into adulthood. She always created a space of love, laughter and delicious food. LOVED her desserts and I always loved seeing her quilts and other homemade things she worked so hard on. ♥️ We will miss her and reflecting on past memories is the best way we can preserve those moments.
