Susan M. Junk

Susan (Junkie), you were such a gentle soul. You always had long blond hair, no makeup, a wide smile, and dressed simply. I always felt accepted by you at Bishop Kelley High School. We were in a group of friends who loved art and hung out at the "smoke hole" after we ate school lunch, even though you and I did not smoke - we just liked the people that gathered there: the artists, the journalists, photographers, the long-haired boys and girls, the cool kids, the misfits - but we were all adventurous! Although we lost touch after graduation, I always wondered what had become of you and thought about you often - that's the kind of memorable girl you were. Your temperament and manner were always loving and accepting. Not many kids could be so collected and assured as you were in your everyday life. I will always treasure your friendship for those short years of my life. Thank you for your generosity of spirit. Rest in Perpetuity. Until we meet again in another lifetime or plane of existence. A heartfelt condolence to your family. Susan, followed her young dreams, was a caring angel on earth. I was blessed to have known her. She gave me the book, “Jonathan sea gull,” a 1972 Christmas present providing a powerful message of any era,” It still inspires me as did her understanding of it. Susan was always a bright spot no matter where you saw her. In church, the grocery store, anywhere, you were certain to see her beautiful smile. She was amazingly creative, and a devoted mother and daughter. I always enjoyed seeing her and having a fun chat and a great hug. She knew the Joy in life and was generous to share it. Deepest sympathy to her loving family...I know she will be greatly missed...this is a great loss. It will be a blessing as time passes for her family to have so many wonderful memories of Susan to share...

To the family of Susan Junk, I went to high school with Susan, & I had the pleasure of calling Susan a friend. Susan was always such a sweet, kind, & gentle person, & I as well as others, enjoyed getting together with her during our high school years. I remembered hanging out with her at her parents home on 31st, just off of peoria. Another friend, gave me Susan's phone number approx.2 years ago. Susan & I spoke a couple of times & I remember she said she'd been in an auto accident, & that she wasn't the same. I have my share of health issues, & ashamed to say I no longer had contact with Susan. I was shocked to see the announcement, & obituary. I have no idea what might have happened for Susan to pass away. I can only say that heaven has gained a beautiful angel to watch over us all. Rest in peace Susan, & thank you Lord for letting our path's cross.

We love and remember Susan and all the fun times the Junk and Barry families had together in OKC. We especially remember that very cold camping trip we all took to Rocky Mountain National Park when we camped next to each other at Timbercreek Campground. The girls made a special trail that they made the grown-ups follow with them through the nearby woods. And nobody got lost!! Our love to the family, Emily and Linda

I am so sorry Gayla. I lost my sister Kathy just over a year ago. It is so hard to think of them not being around. If you need to talk let me know. We all had a lot of fun growing up together, especially swimming out in the boonies with you two.
