Susan Cox Mount

Susan Cox Mount of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died January 16, 2021, at St. John Medical Center, of complications from Covid-19. She was eighty years old.

A lifelong resident of Tulsa, Susan graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Tulsa, where she was a member of Delta Gamma. During her career, she managed offices for a construction company, an employment agency (twice), and a surgeon. In the early 2000s, Susan was hired by the state insurance commissioner to lead workshops throughout Oklahoma on how to detect Medicare fraud, a job she held for several years before returning to office management.

Susan brought joy to her family and her many friends. She will be remembered for her vivacious personality, her beautiful smile, and her loving and loyal heart. She was highly respected by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Cary McGoffin (Bethany) of Durant, Oklahoma; her two daughters, Katherine Mitchell (Mark) of Tulsa and Karen Elliott (Keith) of Choctaw, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her brothers Thomas Cox and Michael Cox (Betty) of Tulsa; and her sister, Linda Cox of Boston, Massachusetts. Her brother Timothy Cox predeceased her.

Due to the Covid situation, private, family-only services will be held.
