Obituary
Steven (Steve) Michael Struttmann, 64, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at his home in Skiatook, Oklahoma. He was born on August 12, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri to Joan Belsha and Kenneth Eugene Struttmann.
Steve grew up in Decatur, Illinois. He graduated from St. Teresa High School in 1978. After high school he attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He worked for Oklahoma Heart Institute as CEO for 31 years, and most recently, Muscogee Creek Nation.
Steve married Melissa Struttmann in 2013 in Jenks, Oklahoma. They were happily married for over 11 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, visiting National Parks, working in his yard and watching sports, especially beloved Illini basketball and football.
Steve is survived by his children Jeff (Casey) Struttmann of Bixby, Courtney (Brent) Hartsook of Norman, Connor Struttmann of Tulsa, Sam Struttmann of Tulsa, and Stepchildren Mackenzie Muncy of Tulsa, Lydia (Spencer) Cox of Tulsa, Abigail (Hillary) Wright of Sapulpa, Reuben (Kelsie) Wright of Keifer, and Chloe Wright of Broken Arrow, seven grandchildren, Piper, Tess, Bryn, George, Emma, Karter and Hazel, and other relatives. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Ken and Joan Struttmann and his sister Sandy.
A visitation will be held at Ninde Funeral, 3841 South Peoria Avenue in Tulsa from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 16, with service in the chapel at 11 am. Burial service will follow the funeral at Calvary Cemetery, 9101 South Harvard Avenue in Tulsa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Oklahoma Heart Research and Education Foundation, 1265 S Utica Ave Ste 300, Tulsa, OK 74104-4243

I’m so sorry to hear about Steve’s passing. I’ll always remember how much he loved the simple joys in life: kicking back by the chiminea, a cold Moosehead in hand, a plate of fried ravioli within reach, and an Illini basketball game on in the background. His warmth, and humor will be deeply missed. Thinking of you and your family during this time and sending all my love.

Q: How did you meet Steven? A: I met Steve at my first retreat at Osage retreat center. He was the friendliest and the most polite man I had met in a long time. He took care of all of us ladies and we called him the Ambassador. He was our S’mores King and always had our fire pit going to keep us nice and warm while we sat around the fire wrapped up in our s’mores quilts. I would always see him out in the yard working so I always made sure when I came to the retreat I would bring him some type Of plant or flower. Steve, you will be missed greatly.

While I knew Steve as the CEO of Oklahoma Heart Institute, I also saw him as more than that. He made time to talk to everyone and learn everyone’s names (that alone impressed me a great deal). He was always kind and gracious to me and I will always miss his wide, infectious smile.

Steve and I worked together at Medical Care Associates of Tulsa when he was a young man. Our careers took us in different directions and I have not seen Steve for decades. My memory of him, however, as a genuinely kind person who did his job well and cared for those around him, has lasted through the years.
