Steven Edward Nelson

Steven Edward Nelson, 66, beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away July 19, 2014 at home. Steve was born on July 17, 1948 in Bellingham Washington to Edward and Elsie Nelson and graduated from Battleground High School in Battle Ground Washington.

Enlisting into the US Army in 1966, Steven served with distinction in Vietnam earning the Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medals (4 campaigns), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation. He continued serving his country stationed at a wide variety of posts including Korea, Virginia, and Hawaii. After leaving the Army, Steven served as the Technology Manager for an Oil Exploration firm in Tulsa, OK until his retirement.

Steven is survived by his wife, Sin Ok, of Tulsa; his sons, Elijah Hanson and his wife Shelby, Aaron Nelson and his wife Anca, and Benjamin Nelson; his mother Elsie Nelson; his brother Joel Nelson; and sisters Marianne Eichelberger and husband Rich, and Heidi Nelson; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 27 2014 at VFW Post 577 in Tulsa from 1-3pm.
