Sandra Lou Copeland

Sandra Lou (Frear) Copeland was born December 6, 1934, in Tulsa, OK to Lawrence Frank & Lulla Belle (Bowen) Frear and passed from this life on January 26, 2024, at the age of 89.

Sandy led a very happy and adventurous 89 years of life. She held a lifetime love of fishing, anytime, anywhere. She taught herself to play the piano early in her life and continued bringing joy to others because of it. She was an accomplished painter, concentrating on Native American portraits and their ways of life. She and her husband, Alton, owned and operated Frear’s Flowers that was originally started by her mother, and carried the business forward after her own mother’s passing and until she and Al retired. She was an avid gardener and was great at it. She was a prolific writer and left her legacy in those writings. Sandy was quite the social butterfly and was always the first to make a joke to bring laughter to any situation. We are heartbroken at her passing and will miss her for eternity. 

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton Ray Copeland; and her infant son, Mark Copeland.  She is survived by her children, Dirk (Donna) Copeland, Kelly Robateau, Kevin Copeland, and Troy Copeland; her grandchildren, Joshua Copeland, Travis Copeland, Amber Rodrigues, Casey Aday, Alicia Robateau, Chris Copeland and Brett Copeland; and 18 great grandchildren. 

A funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Ninde Brookside Chapel.  She will be laid to rest following at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, OK.
