Ruth Ilene Lehman

Ruth Ilene Lehman, born in Turley (Bird Creek Falls), Oklahoma July 18, 1927, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016.

Ruth was the oldest daughter of 11 children born to Viola Pearl Allen Scott and Orley Lynold Scott. In Ruth’s 1945 Chanute High School senior yearbook, “Scottie”, as she was referred to, was said to be an obliging young lady. Her past time was getting out of work and her ambition was to graduate.

After high school Ruth worked for various oil and gas companies and a local bank in the Tulsa area as an accounts payable person.

Ruth married Frank Pease and had four children; Andrea Gayle Pease (deceased), Susan Lynn Pease Case, Jerry Ray Pease and Scott Douglas Pease.

On October 25, 1963 Ruth married Dean Lehman. With that marriage, Ruth was blessed with another son, Harold Dean Lehman, better known as PeeWee.

Ruth was a committed Christian who loved her family and friends. When she made a friend, it was a friend for life. Her hobbies over the years included ceramics, painting, sewing, quilting and baking. Family and friends always looked forward to her chocolate chip cookies, black berry wine cake and peanut butter balls.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Viola Pearl Allen and Orley Lynold Scott daughter, Andrea Gayle Pease; husbands Frank Pease and Dean Lehman; brothers Orville L. Scott, Arnold Jack Scott, Max Allen Scott, Robert Lloyd Scott, O. Lee Scott, Billy Eugene Scott and Dick Joe Scott; sisters Helen Maxine Nelson and Loretta Pearl Johnson Group.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Susan Case, sons Jerry Ray Pease and wife Lou Ann Pease, Scott Pease and wife Terri Pease, Harold Lehman and wife Laurie Lehman, grandchildren Denisha Posey and husband Aaron Posey, Kyle Pease, Caleb Pease and Miki Lehman and husband Robert Turcott, great grandchildren Ryder Lehman, Landon Posey, Jocelyn Wright, Ace and Archer Posey and Sophia Turcott, sister Audrey Young and many loved sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She will be greatly missed.
