Ruby Marie Cadenhead

Ruby Marie (Brady) Cadenhead was born August 7, 1925 in Tulsa, OK to John Harvey & Stella Blanche (Stephens) Brady, Sr. and passed from this life surrounded by family on July 27, 2016 at the age of 90.

In obtaining her education Ruby attended Mark Twain Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High and Tulsa Central High School. She worked in sales for Vandevers Department Store and Pepsi Cola as well as operating her own shop, Ruby’s Sample Shop. She enjoyed traveling, cooking for her family, and creating floral arrangements for others. She loved her weekly beauty shop trips and would be proud to know her longtime hairdresser, Cindy Brummett, fixed her hair one final time.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert W. Cadenhead, III; her siblings, Maxine Pyle and John H. Brady, Jr.; and her granddaughter Helen Marie Russell. She is survived by her son Richard Russell and his wife Martha of Tulsa, OK; her daughter, Linda Saltmarsh and her husband Russel of Monkey Island, OK; her 5 grandchildren; her 6 great grandchildren (with one on the way); her sister, Joan (Brady) Fountain; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. An extraordinary woman she will be missed by all her knew her.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday with family receiving friends from 5-7 and the funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, both at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home.
