Roy Swearingen

Roy John Swearingen was born June 24, 1929 in West Plains, MO to John & Florence (Buren) Swearingen and passed from this life January 7, 2013 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 83.

Upon graduation of high school Roy joined the U.S. Marine Corps from which he was honorably discharged. Roy met and married the love of his life, Neva J. Swearingen and worked as a milk deliveryman with PageGlencliff Dairy for many years. He retired from Wonder Bread as a bread loader. A hardworker, lover of life and family ma. He will be greatly missed.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his sister, Ethel Mullins. He is succeeded by his daughters Mary Swearingen and Dixie Ray and her husband, Tim; his son, Jim Swearingen; his sister, Myrtle Deleeuw; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Roy will lie in state Wednesday from 10:00 - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and a funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, all at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
