Obituary
Roger D. Hudson was born June 12, 1955 in Tulsa, OK and passed away on August 25, 2020 at the age of 65. Roger was the youngest of 7 children and grew up where strong Christian values and hard work ethics were a way of life. He graduated from Webster High School in 1973. Like his father and his older brother, Roger worked as a plumber after high school. He studied hard and worked even harder because he wanted to become a successful contractor and own his own business. Roger met Linda Chance in 1974 and they married in August of 1975. They recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Roger was an extremely generous man his entire life and he loved helping people. When he married Linda he worked countless extra hours so she could graduate from nursing school at The University of Tulsa. Fulfilling their shared dream, they went into business as Hudson Plumbing in 1983. Soon after, they added heating and air conditioning to their business and have experienced success for nearly 40 years. Roger was proud to have his children working for him, and always demanded excellence as he showed them “the Hudson way.” He valued his employees, was respected by his peers, and was well known for solving complex problems with ease and precision. His values and high business standards live on as his children carry on his business that always meant so much to him. Roger lived a life of service to his community, freely giving his time and expertise to his church, his children’s schools, serving as a member of the board of education at Allen Bowden for over a decade. He was active in Boy Scouts and coached little league baseball. He most enjoyed spending time at the lake with Linda and fishing with his grandchildren. Roger was an honest man who always showed a genuine concern for the welfare of others. He will be greatly missed.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents L.R. and Floy Hudson, and his sister Wilma Jean Blair. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Sarah Shibley (Seth), son Richard (Hollie), & son Blake (Caylee) all of Sapulpa. 9 grandchildren: Peter, Isaac, Samuel & Mary Shibley, Conner and Olivia Hudson & Charlie, Graham and Hayden Hudson. Brother, Lawrence Hudson (Jerri), sisters Alice Reed, Patricia Crone (Bill), Brenda Moore, and LaDonna Lesher Thiltgen (Wayne).
A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 1401 E. Taft Avenue, Sapulpa, OK 74066.

I met Roger, Linda, and Sarah when I was working at Wood-Stone. Hudson was our go to company for new construction and remodels. I was scared to death of Roger! My boss would say call Hudson, and schedule them for this or that, I would literally cringe. If Roger answered the phone, I would be near tears. I would call nearly everyday, and I'd think to myself, 'dear Lord, please let Linda or Sarah answer the phone!" My boss would laugh and give me a hard time, he was capable of calling himself, but he WANTED me to get to know Roger. My boss called him a teddy bear!! How could this be, I would think! As time went by, well Russ was SO right. This man was kind, he was quick to laugh, we became GREAT friends. After his heart attack, he would come by the office after his rehab at the hospital. We would talk for what seemed like hours!! Roger and Linda were aware that I was caring for elderly parents. Roger re- plumbed their entire backyard for I'm sure half the price of anyone. Roger replaced their water heater, which unknown to anyone didn't fit the closet where daddy wanted it. Roger's crew had to remove the door, and cut a wall, and made it fit perfectly. That's only two of many, many things Roger did for my folks. When daddy passed away, Roger and Linda planted a tree in daddy's honor. It goes on and on. He gave 'Angie' discounts to several family members and friends. He purchased cattle from my sister, who inherited them, with no clue what to do with cattle. Roger and his family are definitely some of the finest people to ever walk this earth. I will never forget him. We're all better people just having known him.

we lived just down the street from mr hudson.. only visited with mr hudson one time when i had a plumbing issue. he sent his son over to take care of issue and wouldn't accept any payment.. mr hudson said that's what neighbor's are for to help out.. he was a good man helping his neighbors and friends alway's our prayer's go out to the entire hudson family in this time of such a loss.. vernon and kathy shatwell

The first time we meet Roger we were building our Lake place, they were our next door neighbors. Doug and I were staining our vaulted ceilings with ladders and some boards in between, he just looked at us shaking his head and said you know I have some scaffolding you can borrow and the next weekend he brought them to us! Wow what a difference that made! From there we started visiting with them and became good friends! Our little dogs would wait in the window on Friday’s waiting for Spot and Gretchen to show up. Then off to The Blue House to eat chicken. We have had so many fun trips Las Vegas, Branson, Colorado and many spur of the minute trips. We will cherish the memories that we have! Roger and Linda welcomed us into their family and we are grateful to know all of them. Roger was funny and always so generous and always willing to help his neighbors. Thanks for the memories Roger, you will be missed!
