Robert Wayne Winter

Robert Wayne Winter, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026.  Robert was born on November 16, 1937, to Albertine Anna Winter and Fredrick William Winter. He was their only child and carried forward their legacy with strength, dedication, and a deep sense of family.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy. His final assignment was aboard the USS Batfish that he put out of commission, and it followed him to Oklahoma. It was an experience that shaped his lifelong sense of discipline, patriotism, and service.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Carole Joanne Winter, and together they built a life centered around love, commitment, and family.  Robert is survived by his four children: Gregory Michael Winter and his spouse Angel; Stephen Michael Winter and his spouse Tracey; Donna Marie Griffith and her spouse Gregory; and Melissa Beth Nissley and her spouse Leland. He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Robert will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, the St Louis Cardinals, and the values he instilled in those who knew him. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
