Obituary
Robert Dale Pinney was born February 13, 1962 in Tulsa, OK to his mother Helen Ruth (Cole) Pinney and his father, Larry Delbert Pinney, Sr. He passed peacefully from this life on March 29, 2016 at the age of 54.
Robert was known for his dry wit, sarcastic sense of humor and political incorrectness. He sold and invested in real estate in the Brookside area for many years. He loved speed, whether racing jet skis professionally, riding his Harley or watching Formula 1 races. Robert was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and many friends, but by none more than his son Shane who was his greatest joy in life.
Robert is survived by his parents; his wife, Barbara Joan (Fitzpatrick) Pinney; his son, Robert Shane Pinney; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry & May Pinney, Duane & Allison Pinney, and James & Sue Pinney; and his father’s wife, Sue.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Ninde Brookside Chapel and a graveside at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Javine Cemetery, Barnsdall, OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the ALS Therapy Development Institute at als.net or the Muscular Dystrophy Association (please designate In Memory of Robert Pinney for Tulsa ALS Center), 5840 S. Memorial, #307, Tulsa, OK 74145.

I am so very sorry to hear of Robert's passing. He was a childhood neighbor. It was the four Pinney boys and the four Nichols' girls, across the street. We have so many fun memories and its a wonder we all survived. It makes my heart smile thinking of them. I will say a special prayer for each of you, that you have the strength to carry on. Barbara and Shane, Robert fought his situation to the very end. You both did all you could for him and he knew that. We might not have been on the same side of the "political fence", but we could always count on his wicked sense of humor for some lively conversations. As a good neighbor, he helped us out on numerous occasions. He was a person of great character. We will miss him very much. You both are in our thoughts and prayers. Dear Barbara and Shane, I want to express my sincerest sympathy to you and your family. Robert was a wonderful neighbor and friend to me and my deceased parents; Tommy and Hazel Shore. He was always willing to lend a hand when help was needed. He was an extraordinary conversationalist; a great storyteller and well versed in every subject. Just two weeks ago he was waving to me from his driveway - I will miss him.
