Tributes & Memories

Man.... my grandpa (papa) passed away in his sleep last night. I used to hang around him as he'd work on cars, lawnmowers, you name it, out by his shed. We used to ride around in his truck as he'd drink a coffee and I a "sodi pop" (soda, but he'd call it a sodi pop). He would also give me advice on how to fix a car problem. He'd play his guitar and make up songs about us grandkids, and he was always happy to see us come by for a visit. He would call me Colino (a nickname he gave me), and always said a prayer at a family gathering, and before he ate. I pray for his soul, and hope he'll be in Heaven soon (if he's not already there). ~ Collin AKA Coleeno!

See you later, Papa.💙 I hope your coffee thermos never runs dry and that you and all your ol’ buds are finally sitting together again. Say hi to Penny, Spanky, and Scooter for me. Maybe you guys will spot a woohoo bird or two - I hope you send one my way. Thank you for all the love you showed us, for teaching me how to drive, for all the times you made me jump when you’d shout out-of-the blue, “DID YOU SEE THAT?!?…. Oh, well me neither. I was hoping you did!”, and for all the porch chats and guitar playing. I can hear you singing “You are My Sunshine” right now. Everyone was always welcome to drop by anytime, you were always so happy to see us walk through that door. You and Nan can stop by anytime, too - please do.💕 ~ Lucy

I know you’re enjoying your coffee and playing your guitar sitting in a willow chair on the back porch…I’ll watch out for those moon beams that always got me as a kid. I hope there are plenty of woohoo birds around for you. ~ Derek

Well Papa, you left so suddenly. I am confused, shocked, and a little bit angry. I didn’t even get to come visit you 😞 I hope you’re sitting outside with a cup of hot coffee enjoying the sunset. I’ll listen for the whoohoo birds and let you know when I catch one. ❤️❤️❤️ ~Brittany
