Patsy (Pat) Lou Kaufman
Obituary
Patsy Lou Webb Kaufman was born on St Patrick's Day, March 17, 1936 in Los Lunas, New Mexico to Floyd Edward and Mariam Louise Gustin Webb. She passed away on New Years Day 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 80. Pat was a member of Brookside Baptist Church and also attended services at University Village. She faithfully served our Lord every day and was always available to lend a helping hand.
Pat enjoyed sharing memories of her early days in New Mexico including the time she received a pony tied to the Christmas tree inside the house, as well as those made after the family moved to Gentry, Arkansas to raise dairy cows. At Gentry High School she was class president, enjoyed playing basketball and was involved in various school activities. It was in Gentry that she met and married the love of her life, Harry, and they began their journey together.
Pat won many awards for her quilting, but also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and tatting, creating many beautiful things for family and friends. When Pat and Harry moved to University Village in March of 2016, they became involved in everything from choir and Bible study to Wii bowling and harmonica club. Pat made it her mission to meet every new resident, helping each to connect with an activity that might make their move easier.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bruce. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry; their daughters Debbie (Bill), Dawna (Tom), and Dana (Doug); foster son Peter Merton and his family; six grandchildren of whom she was so very proud; six precious great grandchildren; siblings Ted (Sherry), Earl (Murlene), Joan (Jim); and many other treasured relatives and friends near and far.

My Heart, Love, and Prayer to Harry and Family. I hope these words give comfort and Love: The Power of Love Sammy Hynds Harrison 27 August 2012 At the time of the loss of a loved one, many hearts turn to prayer as they should. However, I would like to think for a moment about the power of love. Were words left unspoken? You have the opportunity to say those words. Love is a connection between heaven and earth. When we lose a loved one, 2 Corinthians 5:8 reminds us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Their spirit goes to be with the Lord, but their love remains with us. Their love may return to us in our dreams, when we look at a letter, picture, a personal item that you have in your possession, when you hear a song, see their favorite flower or color in a rainbow, a sunrise or sunset – the list is endless because Love is endless. Love is the greatest power in the universe. It is more powerful than all of the arsenals of the worlds nations combined. It is more powerful than the rockets that carry men and spaceships into orbit or to another planet. The atomic bomb exploded, destroying and killing all in its path. When Love explodes it draws all of mankind together. It brings smiles and laughter rather than heartache and tears. The more love is used, the stronger it grows. Love is so strong that in marriage, it turns two people into one. Love is instilled in the hearts of parents for a child before birth. That feeling is too great to be described. You don’t believe it could possibly be stronger until you hold that new life in your arms. That’s when you have a surge of love a thousand times greater than before birth. Love stops war. In Matthew 5:44, Jesus Christ says, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” If you are busy loving your enemy, you don’t have time nor space for anger and hate. Love is contagious. Anytime you are close to anyone who is filled with love, you catch it. Love cannot be hoarded. It loses power if it is not used. Therefore the richest of men or women are the ones full of Love. If anyone asks you to describe God, ask them to describe “Love” — For God is Love.
