Obituary
Patricia was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 1, 1946 to Joan (Calvert) Johnson and Nathaniel Johnson. Pat, as she was known to family and friends, was the oldest of four children: Nathaniel Johnson, Jr., Lawrence Johnson and LaVerta (Johnson) Littles.
A child of the sixties, Pat marched for civil rights while a student in the segregated Tulsa Public School System, before embarking on a career as a Homemaker and Registered Nurse.
Pat ended her compulsory education at Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1964. Pat graduated from Langston University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing after working in the home supporting her family. With her professional nursing degree, Pat practiced nursing in the integrated Tulsa Public School System, retiring in 2011.
A classically trained soprano, Pat performed as a soloist with the Carrie B. Neely Guild in Handel’s Messiah for many years. Pat also used her gift of voice as a choir member at Vernon African Methodist Episcopal Church and Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. Pat’s signature solo was “The Lord’s Prayer”. Pat also served the Church as a member of the United Methodist Women, Circle E, at the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
Pat was a true renaissance woman; her talents were not confined to music. Pat was a superb seamstress, excellent cook and baker, knitter and writer. The creative aspect of Pat’s personality did not overshadow the pragmatical aspect: Pat could install a car battery, hang curtains, landscape the yard, install fencing and replace a roof.
The love of Pat’s life was her husband Calion “Cal” Lockridge, Sr. Together Pat and Cal raised their children in a marriage that lasted 41 years. Pat is survived by her children, Patricia (Lockridge) Raymond, Grace Lockridge and Dr. Calion Lockridge, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Dr. Aisha Damali Lockridge; grandson Eric Raymond; brothers and sister; nieces Nichole (Littles) Henderson and Candace (Johnson) Nash; nephew Ronald Littles, Jr.; sister-in-law Kay Wallace (Johnson); brother-in-law Ronald Littles, Sr.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, parents, father-in-law Tanzy Lockridge, mother-in-law Grace (Cullom) Lockridge, step-father Marion Taylor and daughter Anastasia Lockridge.
Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at the Ninde Brookside Chapel. She will be laid to rest at the Lee Cemetery, Boynton, OK.

One of my most precious memories of you was that road trip to St. Jude Children's Hospital with my son Ronald Jr. Your encouragement and support enabled me to make a life changing decision regarding his health. To the family and friends of Patricia Ann Lockridge, I am very sorry for your loss. The wise man Solomon at Ecclesiastes 9:11,12 tells us “I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all. For man does not know his time. Just as fish are caught in an evil net and birds are caught in a trap, so the sons of men are ensnared in a time of disaster, when it suddenly overtakes them..” Yet we can take comfort knowing that there is One who can and will remove such tragedies forever. Until then may you find comfort in the Bible’s hope that one day we will see our lost loved ones again. Jesus also showed how this promise is sure when he resurrected Lazarus. John 11:1-44. Such bible truths provide us with hope and comfort as we look forward to the day when death will no longer be and those who have sadly lost their lives will be awakened onto a Paradisiac Earth, to a life free of sickness, pain, sorrow and the worries of ever dying again. This being the Creator’s original purpose, it will indeed be fulfilled. Yes, Knowing this makes one wonder what wonderful new things Pat will be able to achieve in the near future. I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to Pat's family. Keep in mind the many fond and loving memories you have of her. Pour out your heart to God in prayer for comfort. Prayer and your memories will give you the strength to cope with the loss of dear Pat. May you also find comfort in knowing that God has promised to eliminate sickness and death as stated in Revelation 21:4.
