Norma Jean Kramer

Norma Jean Mattox Kramer began her life with humble beginnings in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Born May 3, 1930, she lived through tragedies that left her mother and herself supporting themselves. She lost her father when she was only one year old but the loss of both brothers during World War II left an indelible mark on her life.

After Norma graduated from Shawnee High School, she went on to the University of Oklahoma, graduating from there in 1952 with a degree in Speech Pathology.

She met Bob Kramer, a medical student, through friends and the hospital where he worked. They married February 1, 1958. They moved to Philadelphia, where Bob completed his medical specialty. They returned to Tulsa where they raised their three children and Bob successfully practiced Ophthalmology.

Norma is survived by Bob, her loving husband, their children and their grandchildren: Her daughter Kimberly and husband Mike McClung from Marble Falls, TX, and their children Melanie and her husband Craig Campise, Amy McClung and Kristina McClung. Her son Matt and his wife Elaine from Spring Field, MO., and his children Jarod and his wife MacKenzie, Mariah Kramer and Yance Kramer. Her youngest son Brett and his wife Kimberly and their children Natalie, Zachary, Benjamin and Hannah and her husband Tyler DeSpain.

Norma was active at First Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed being a member of the Stephen Ministry and many other groups. Other organizations Norma was involved in included PEO, The Children’s Day Nursery and her sorority Alpha Chi Omega. Norma was fully devoted to her family, her faith, and her friends. Some of her favorite things were big hugs, reading, and taking part in all kinds of activities. As a mother, grandmonther, and mother-in-law she was the closest ideal of unconditional love. Her smile and quiet listening will be missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death her parents, Willie Bernice and Robie Mattox, her brothers, Harrell and Winfred, and her infant child, John Lewis. In loving memory services will be held at First Presbyterian Church on May 30, 2015, at 10:00 in the morning. In lieu of flowers the family would love for you to visit Bob at MMO Nursing Home.
