Nina Murphree

Nina Mae (Barnes) Murphree, 88, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Murphree was born April 8, 1921 in Gravette, Arkansas the daughter of T. N. and Leota Myrtle (Hopkins) Barnes.

She married Joseph B. Murphree on July 7, 1961 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2002.

She worked as a machinist for ten years in her early years then later she sold Avon. She devoted much time to her yard and flowers. Her yard was always a show place.

In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Sanders on December 21, 2008.

She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Warrington of Sapulpa, OK, Patricia Monroe of Kiefer, OK and Rhonda Edwards of Tulsa, OK; her Step-Daughters: Reba Hettwer of Broken Arrow, OK and Judy Hemphill of Tulsa, OK; Sister: Barbara McGarrah of Grove, OK; Brother: Clifford Barnes of Gravette, AR; 11 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great, Great Grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Tulsa, OK.
