Obituary
Nellene (Nowell) Saunders was born March 8, 1934 in Laurel, MS to Andrew & Sarah Nowell and passed from this life on July 31, 2017 at the age of 83.
Nellene was a lifetime employee at McDonnell Douglas where she was a transportation dispatcher. Outside her work life Nellene was a docent for Philbrook Museum of Art and an avid learner; studying British history and taking many English classes at Tulsa Junior College. A dedicated member of First United Methodist Church, Nellene will be missed by her Sunday School class, her friends and her children.
Preceded in death by her parents Nellene is survived by her daughter, Margarett “Margie” Zulpo; her son, Gary Zulpo; her brother, Dale Nowell; and her sisters, Charlene Todd, Anna Burns and Myrtis Holifield.
Nellene will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and her funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, both at the Ninde Brookside Chapel.

Nellene was a true southern woman, full of stories, with a wicked sense of humor. We shared many laughs at inappropriate times and I loved every minute I shared with her.
