Melvin Lawhorn

Melvin Eugene "Gene" Lawhorn, 74, died on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at his home in Collinsville, Oklahoma. He was born September 9, 1931 in Chelsea, Oklahoma the son of Norman and Ollie (Murphy) Lawhorn. He was a retired electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers. He married Freeda Mae Gobble on January 15, 1964. They are members of the Owasso Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Freeda of the home; his daughters: Karen Lawhorn of Tulsa and Janie Miller and her husband Mike of Collinsville, OK; his sons: Kenneth Spriggs and his wife Kathy of Owasso, OK and Dan Spriggs and his wife Patty of Broken Arrow, OK; Sisters: Judy Scribner of Claremore, OK and Jimmie Squyaris of Las Vegas, Nevada; Six Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Marvin Lawhorn. Services will be Monday, May 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ninde Woodland Chapel with interment in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10a.m. until 8p.m. Sunday and until service time on Monday.
