Melvin Ashwill
Obituary
Melvin Lee Ashwill was born on November 19, 1916 in Okmulgee, OK to Warren and Minnie (Williams) Ashwill. Mel passed from this life to join his beloved wife and soul mate, Gwen in Heaven on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the age of 96.
Mel received his Bachelors degree from Tulsa University and retired as Supervisor of Accounting from Warren Petroleum Company after 33 years. He served his country honorably during World War II, serving in the Navy. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church.
In 2005, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen. Mel is survived by his nephews, Warren Ashwill of Houston, TX and Roy Dahn of Ft. Smith, AR.
The family will receive friends 5-7PM Tuesday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday First Presbyterian Church Kerr Chapel. He will be privately laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Memorial Park Cemetery.
