Melba Heiland

Mrs. Melba Huddleston Heiland, 92, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born March 16, 1915 in Ada, Oklahoma the daughter of Haskell Jordan and Ethel Victoria (Pendleton) Huddleston. She worked as a secretary for Carter Oil CO and the First Baptist Church in Ada for several years. She moved to Tulsa in 1984 where she has made her home ever since. She was a member of the Beaver Street Baptist Church as well as the Jenks Senior Citizens. She is survived by her daughter: Janene M. Walker and her husband Jack of Broken Arrow, OK; her sisters: Jean Nabors of Madill, OK, Jo Davis and Ann Hall both of Kerrville, TX; her grandsons: James R. Walker and Joel J. Walker; her great grandchildren: Joshua Walker, Joseph Walker, Kyle Walker, Grey Walker and Kathryn Walker. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jason P. Walker. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Thursday at the Ninde Woodland Funeral Home, 5757 S. Memorial. A private family graveside service will be held on friday with her pastor, Rev. Bob Reid officiating. The family requests that those who wish may make memorial donations to her church, Beaver Street Baptist Church, 102 W. Beaver Street, Jenks, OK 74047.
