Mayetta Gann

Mayetta (Hopkins) Gann, resident of Owasso, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009. She was born December 14, 1922 to Grace Jewell and Robert Newton Hopkins in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was married to the love of her life, Sam T. Gann, for sixty-two years. They were blessed with a daughter, Rebecca Jehs and Mike Moore; grandchildren, Scott Jehs and his daughter Emma; Tiffany and Brian Freeman. They were also blessed with a son, Tom Gann and his wife Marti; grandchildren, Libby and Matt Sherwood and their children Miranda, Jacob and Lucas; Chresta and Scott Edwards and their son, Ben; Jacob Gann and Laura Gann.

Mayetta was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her yard and collecting antiques and dolls. She was kind and generous with always a ready smile. She was a strong believer in the power of prayer and spent much of her time studying the Bible. Mayetta's true love, Sam, passed before her in November 2008. Several of her brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ruth Hopkins; her daughter Rebecca and family; and her son, Tom and family.

Mayetta will lie in state 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ninde Woodland Funeral Home with a graveside service being held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
