Maurice M. Tharp was born September 19, 1909 in Cherokee, Kansas to Frederick and Beulah (Young) Tharp. He passed from this life October 22, 2005 at the age of 96 years. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army and retired as an accounting clerk from Kewanee Oil Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Margaret (Neudorf) Tharp. Mr. Tharp is survived by his step-daughter, Marsha Foster; 2 grandchildren, Bill Foster and Carrie Smith; and, 2 great grandchildren, Clint and Wade Smith. Friends may call on Monday at Ninde Woodland Funeral Home, 5757 S. Memorial Dr. Graveside rites will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
