Mary Evelyn (Nelson) Holmes was born October 19, 1921 in Tulsa, OK to Julian Lemon & Mary Amalia (Eichberger) Nelson and passed from this life on August 13, 2016 at the age of 94.
Mary married Paul M. Holmes November 10, 1942 at the Lubbock Army Airfield in Texas. She and Paul would be married 56 years before his death in 1999. Mary owned and operated Bokay & Gift Shop bringing beauty into the lives of Tulsans for many years. A longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church Mary was a woman of faith and love. She will be greatly missed.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers, Lawrence J. Nelson, Joseph Paul Nelson and Frank Roland Nelson. She is survived by her daughters, Paula King of Seaside, CA and Mary Ann Holmes of Anaheim, CA; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
