Mary Ellen Ware

Mary Ellen (Williams) Ware was born July 27, 1932 in Altus, OK to Alfred & Ruby (Garrett) Williams and passed from this life on June 8, 2022 at the age of 89.

Mary graduated from Central High School in Tulsa in 1950. Mary worked at Ross Martin Insurance for many years. Then she was the General Manager of Automobile Recovery as well as homemaker and marvelous mother.

Mary, along with George, were Past Presidents of the Northeast Oklahoma Square Dance Association. Mary cherished spending time with all of her family who loved her dearly. She enjoyed many years of traveling, going on cruises, camping, bowling, square dancing and sitting on her patio to admire the birds and flowers. She also loved all of her pets, especially Tia and Mia. Mary was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, George Allen Ware, Sr.; her daughter, Lisa Sue; and her sister, C. Sue Hoffman. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Debi & Craig Waller, George & Lisa Ware, Jr., Chris & Shelly Ware; her 7 grandchildren; her 14 great grandchildren; and her 3 great, great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.

Mary will lie in state Monday, June 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and her funeral will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14 at the John Knox Presbyterian Church. She will be laid to rest following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
