Marilyn Margaret Keeter

Marilyn Margaret Carter Keeter, 82 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2019.

Marilyn was born on September 6, 1936 in Ft. Madison, Iowa to Merle and Margaret (Reed) Carter.  She attended Will Rogers High school and the University of Tulsa. At TU, she met Phil Keeter.  They were married on January 23, 1959. Marilyn was a homemaker.

Marilyn was Phi Mu President, Basketball Queen and Yearbook Queen at TU.  She was a campfire leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, PTA president at Key Elementary. The President of the Will Rogers Rotary Anns, Pink Lady at St. Francis Hospital, the President of the St. Francis Women’s Auxiliary, and Editor of the St. Francis Stethoscope.

Marilyn and Phil were avid TU fans, enjoying countless basketball and football games. They loved traveling with the teams and were active in the Hurricane Club. Marilyn and Phil attended Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.

Marilyn’s passions besides her kids and grandkids, were drawing in charcoal and ink, doing needlepoint, making flower arrangements, decorating the house for holidays, cooking, spending time at the lake with family and all things creative!

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, Phil Keeter; daughter Kimberly DeMarco and her partner Jonna Gee and grandson Austin DeMarco and his wife Elizabeth; daughter Kelly Roth and her husband John, granddaughter Amanda Gruenberg and her husband Ross, great granddaughter Ella Gruenberg, and grandson Zachary Roth; son Scott Keeter and his wife Cheri, and granddaughters Morgan and Kendall Keeter; and her sister Dorothy Jamison of Houston, Texas.

Memorial service 2:30 P.M. Friday, April 26th, Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, University of Tulsa, or Boston Avenue Methodist Church.
