Margaret Ione Davis

Davis, Margaret Ione was born July 2, 1954 in Tulsa, OK to John Curtis and Linnie Ilean (Mizell) Turpen. She peacefully passed away with dignity and grace, surrounded by her family in her home in Sand Springs, OK Saturday, October 3, 2015 after a ten year battle with ovarian cancer.

Margaret was a 1972 graduate of McLain High School in Tulsa and studied at Oklahoma State University. She was in her 26th year as a Ministry Assistant to the Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church Tulsa when she died. Margaret was a long time member of First Baptist Church Tulsa and faithfully served the Lord in many ministries during her years there. Most recently Margaret was thrilled to devote much of her energy and time to the Student Ministry before her disease forced her to step away.

Margaret was a kind and loving person who always placed the needs of everyone else ahead of her own. She made everyone feel they were loved. She was fiercely devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to her family, her friends and her church family. Margaret was especially fond of her six grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father, John Curtis Turpen. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Wayne Davis; her daughter, Emily Anne Bauman; her sons, Jonathan Brent Davis and Blake Aaron Davis; granddaughters Elizabeth Anne Bauman, Layla Kadence Davis and Anna Grace Bauman; and grandsons, Jacob Bauer Bauman, Brooks Aaron Davis and Tell Harlan Davis; her mother, Linnie Ilean Madison; her sisters Karen Ilean Payne and Sherry Lynn Turpen, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Margaret’s family and friends will celebrate her life 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at First Baptist Church Tulsa, 403 S. Cincinnati Ave. Friends may contribute in Margaret’s memory to St. Francis Hopsice, 6600 S. Yale Ave., Ste. 350, Tulsa, OK 74136.
