Mable Tharp was born on February 18, 1929 in Rossville, OK to Walter and Cora (Batt) Mays. Mable passed from this life on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at her home in Sand Springs at the age of 82. She was married to Roy Leonard Tharp for 53 years before he preceded her in death in 1997. She was a cook at St. Francis Hospital and was known for her homemade gravy. Mable is survived by her daughters, Sandy Tharp-Thee, of Agra, OK and Judy Tharp Grimm, of Tulsa, OK; a son, Dean Tharp, of Skiatook, OK; a sister, Judy Matson, of California; 2 brothers, Joe Billy Mays, of Washington and Richard Mays, of Arizona; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
