Obituary
Linda Vance Mullendore Arrington, a beloved matriarch known for her grace, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her family and community, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Linda was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to Edna and Leo Vance, and spent her formative years surrounded by the beauty of the Oklahoma landscape. She received her education at the prestigious Hockaday School and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, where she proudly became a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
In the course of her life, Linda's heart found its home on the Cross Bell Ranch in Hulah, Oklahoma, alongside her beloved husband E.C. Mullendore, III. Together, they raised four children: E.C. Mullendore, IV, Clint Vance Mullendore, Eric Vance Mullendore, and Linda Mullendore Goggans. Linda's dedication to her family was paramount, and she embraced her role as a nurturing mother with profound love and devotion.
After the passing of E.C. Mullendore, III, Linda moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she later married John L. Arrington, Jr. Linda immersed herself in the community, serving as chairman of the Opera Ball and generously donating her time and efforts to numerous philanthropic organizations. Her commitment to supporting the arts and charitable causes endeared her to many and left an indelible mark on those she touched.
Linda is preceded in death by her husbands, E.C. Mullendore, III, and John L. Arrington, Jr. She is survived by her four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of whom cherish her memory and the legacy of kindness, strength, and compassion she instilled in each of them.
Linda Vance Mullendore Arrington will be remembered not only for her remarkable achievements and contributions but also for her warmth, elegance, and profound love for her family. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her legacy will continue to inspire for generations to come.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s honor to the Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas.

Linda is my fiancé’s mother and she will always be loved with thoughts of so many memories. The past 6 months I’m so happy that we both made more of an effort spending quality time together “just us” Linda was an elegant classy woman with a spunky spirit with her quick witted comments and always on the go! If she had no plans for the day she would always say I’m bored and drive around to keep herself busy and occupied! She was my “partner” getting mani and pedis every 2 weeks;) She was a true lady that got dressed up from the moment she woke up, even if we were just hanging out at her house, she was always so put together from head to toe full face makeup, jewelry and styling her hair in a chignon on her right side.. with a pretty barette that matched her outfit perfectly. She never aged! The funniest comment she’d say to me “what do you want to do today? Talk about people or go to Saks?” LOL!!! Her fashion sense went way beyond clothes and shoes, she had an eye for decorating and could’ve been an amazing interior designer!! Along with her love for fashion were fast cars and dogs! Particularly her Tibetan Spaniel “Lacy” who is 18 years old! She always was so generous with everyone and taken too seriously by most until you got to really know her and how to crack that tough exterior that was very soft underneath… knowing her past with her late husband (children’s father) I don’t blame her for putting up walls and having no choice but to have a tough exterior with false accusations from the public. She did the best she could over the years trying to protect her family from all the controversy that took place during most of her lifetime. Her favourite restaurants were Charleston’s and Polo Grill… it was lunch and dinner at either of them every day of the week… Eric and I would be like let’s try another restaurant but no was always her answer she was extremely loyal to these two! lol One favorite memory with her was watching the solar eclipse with our “eclipse glasses” on outside of Charleston’s… with the rest of the crew that work there… so glad we got to experience that together.. The last few weeks before her passing, she declined rapidly after getting sick with the average flu, but Linda was fierce and a true fighter! Always got right back on her feet after suffering from stage 4 breast cancer, Covid (in and out of hospital for weeks on end) abdominal aortic aneurysm, 4 way bypass heart surgery… and above most the death of EC Mullendore. So we thought she’d get up again like she always did but it didn’t happen so it is shocking that she’s no longer with us… She will forever be loved and missed ♥️♥️♥️
