Lila Mae Van Deusen

Lila Mae (Schafer) Van Deusen was born August 6, 1928 in Fairfax, OK to James Harrison & Dora D. (Barnard) Schafer and passed from this life surrounded by family on October 22, 2014 at the age of 86.

People always ask what Mom's hobbies, likes and dislikes are or what are her achievements. She loved to play in the dirt planting flowers and tending to the flower beds. Her favorite thing to do was to arrange flowers. She made flower arrangements for Memorial Day for the family. Her largest achievement was raising 3 wonderful kids and a pretty good husband and always with her beautiful smile.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ricky Scott Van Deusen; her sister, Lorene Lytle; and her brothers, Quentin Schafer and Carl Schafer. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, William H. Van Deusen; her daughter, Alana Atwell and her husband, Brian; her son, Randy Bill Van Deusen and his wife, Phyllis; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Lila will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and her funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, all at Ninde Brookside Chapel. She will be laid to rest in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
