Larry Wayne Barnes

Born in Riverside California to Roy and Iva Barnes. Larry found his lifelong soulmate, Candace Barnes, at the young age of 17, and their union became a testament to enduring love for 45 years. 

Larry and Candace moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the early 1980s, where they established their lifelong home. Larry was a deeply spiritual man and a firm believer. A skilled carpenter, he built not only structures but also a strong community around Tulsa, making lasting friendships with those who would become lifelong companions. He was a perfectionist with his paintbrushes and all he crafted.

As a father to three children—Dusty, Aubrey, and Lacey—Larry cherished his role and took immense pride in them. He embraced the title of "CampMaster Barnes," spending countless years at Elk River with family and friends. There, he crafted the best campsites, lit memorable campfires, displayed his large American flag, and treasured the joyful moments shared together. 

Larry often remarked that he was a rich man, grateful for his wife, Candace, and the wonderful individuals their children had become. He had a love for God's beauty of the outdoors and you could always catch him on his skateboard. He was known for his generosity, giving much while asking for little in return. Always positive and hopeful, he inspired those around him with his unwavering spirit. His kindness and loving heart, is something this world was blessed with forever. 

Larry lives on in the hearts of his surviving family - his pride and joys, Dustin, Aubrey and Lacey (husband,Blake Darby). His spirit continues through his cherished grandchildren, Vivian and Jonas Darby. His Brothers Dennis and Chris Barnes. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
