Larry Parkhurst

Larry Stephen Parkhurst was born June 30, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri and passed unexpectedly February 3, 2011 at the age of 60.

Preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Henderson and Mary Jane (Austin) Parkhurst; his father-in-law, Joe Deal and his sister-in-law, Rachael Deal; Steve is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rebecca Sue (Deal) Parkhurst; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Julie Parkhurst; his daughters, Laurel and Hannah Parkhurst; his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry & Joan Parkhurst; mother-in-law, Mary Deal Vance and Dennis Vance; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Robin Webb, Bill and Ramona Gaddis, Tom and Ruth Perry, numerous nephews and nieces, mother, Nita Tribble and extended family. He has left a void in many lives.

Beloved husband, father, friend, the crown of his family and a strong mentor to all. He dedicated his life to being a model for his family, generously providing for them and caring for his friends. He was a successful Entrepreneur in the petroleum industry and his legacy can be seen in both family and professionally in the lessons he taught: go for what you want, take chances, when you fall get back up, don't look back, protect and love each other. He had a great passion for all motor sports and was an avid golfer.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel with a reception following in the Memorial Park Cemetery Family Living Center.
