Kristin Anne (Kulling) Hutcherson, 42, of Tulsa died on February 7, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Kristin, a devoted and loving wife, mother, and elementary school teacher, was born in Moore, Oklahoma, on March 12, 1974 to Frank and Dot Kulling. She moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, when her father was assigned to Oklahoma State University as a Reserve Officer Training Corps Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1992 and then attended Oklahoma State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Education. She was assigned to Hoover Elementary School in Tulsa for her student teaching internship. While at Oklahoma State University she was a member of both the Cross Country and Track teams, as well as the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She attended Zion Lutheran Church while living in Stillwater. She moved to Tulsa in 2001 after accepting a teaching position at Hoover Elementary School. She married Chad Hutcherson on December 4, 1999.
Kristin was a public servant and had a passion for teaching children and introducing them to the life-long benefits of fitness. She was honored as Teacher of the Year for Hoover Elementary School and was selected for an international teacher exchange program where she traveled to China to share teaching experiences. She also initiated a highly successful running club at Hoover Elementary School which routinely resulted in first-place recognition during school challenges at local races. She attended Southminster Presbyterian Church in Tulsa.
She is survived by her husband, Chad Hutcherson, daughter Madelynn, and son Luke of Tulsa. She is survived by her parents, Dot and Frank Kulling of Stillwater, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband’s parents, Binnie Hutcherson of Tulsa and Henry Hutcherson of Oklahoma City. She is survived by her siblings who are: Laura and her husband Stephen Mitchell and their children Matthew Mitchell and Miranda Loflin (husband, Jacob) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Michael and his wife Kristen Kulling and their children Mackendrick and Katelin of Stillwater. She is survived by her husband’s sister Amanda and her husband Amory Fuller and their children Eliana, Elias, and Emelia of Tulsa.
Kristin will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m Friday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and her service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Southminster Presbyterian Church. She will be privately interred at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dear Hutcherson family. I am so sorry to have read of the death of Kristen. Please accept my sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4. These verses tell us that soon God is going to bring about a resurrection of our dear loved ones as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering, including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my hope that these thoughts will comfort your family also.

Mrs. Hutcherson was an incredible person. She was my PE teacher from 2000-2005 during my time at Hoover Elementary. She always had an enjoyable class, and it was always a good time with her. We looked forward to PE during our Elementary School days. She will be sorely missed by myself, and all of the parents, teachers, and students of Hoover Elementary.

Kristin was one of my very best friends in college, and a dear ZTA sister. She made me laugh harder than I ever had, study harder than I ever had, and have more fun than I ever had. The jokes, the late nights in our basement room at the ZTA house, the functions and study hours... and then my bachelorette party. She was always there, life of the party, but the one who kept us all straight in line. Her honesty and integrity were staples of her character, and she was the friend I could call on whenever I needed anything. Kristin, you will never be forgotten. I started working at Hoover this year and so I've only known Kristin for a short time but yet I feel like I've known her forever. She was my "go to" person and helped show me the ropes of being a specials teacher, my lunch duty partner, and my Wonder Woman sidekick. So many little things I will miss, silly things like stories about our dogs (we both adopted new doggies about the same time), or that I got a new refrigerator for my classroom and it's orange so of course I wanted to tell her to come down to my room and see it, or the fact that I just found out my mom used to bowl with Chad, of course I wanted to tell her. She was such a special lady. I can't say "whomever replaces her" because she can not be replaced so I will just say that PE at Hoover will have some very special shoes to fill. Godspeed Kristin and know you will be greatly missed!!!

Kristin was always encouraging, friendly, helpful and so very passionate about teaching. When I accepted the position of physical education coordinator Kristin was the first to welcome me aboard and offer help if I needed it. She continued to be extremely helpful and encouraging throughout this year. She was someone that I looked up to as an educator and visiting her classroom it was easy to see why everyone loved her so very much. She was an amazing teacher and colleague. She will be missed greatly. Thoughts and prayers to those that were so very lucky to call her a friend, family or colleague.
