June Lou Kees

June Lou (Griffith) Kees was born June 14, 1938, in Peoria, IL to Al & Olga Griffith and passed from this life on September 26, 2025, at the age of 87 in her family home.

June’s father worked in the meat packing business in Arkansas City, KS where June graduated from high school.  She promptly went to work for AT&T as a telephone operator and stayed in the telecommunications business for 30 years until her retirement as a drafting clerk.  June and her family lived in the Maple Ridge addition for 40 years.  She was an avid reader and loved to walk the neighborhood with family and her friend, Nancy Frampton.  She loved to bake and often brought treats to the elementary students.  She loved to sew, ride around Tulsa with a cup of coffee, and she even enjoyed caddying for her husband armed with her quick wit and humor.  She loved to plant flowers and commune with nature.

June is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Marcele Croft.  She is survived by her husband, Steven Gregory Kees; her daughters and their husbands, Angie & Monty Dobson and Renie & David Smith; her brother, Jim Griffith; her sister, Nancy Paynter; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

June’s funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home Chapel.
