Joyce Marie Hanner

Joyce Marie (Smith) Hanner was born July 1, 1921 in Mountain View, Arkansas. She passed from this life February 19, 2015 in Tulsa at the age of 93. She moved to Tulsa as a young girl. She married the love of her life, John D. “J.D.” Hanner on April 25, 1936. They loved their retirement years living at Grand Lake where Joyce enjoyed painting, good music and fishing from their pontoon boat.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John; son, Allen; daughter, Janice Daniels; three brothers and one sister. She is survived by twin sons, Ed Hanner and his wife, Jeannine, Ted Hanner and his wife, Elaine; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 5635 East 71st Street. A graveside committal will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in Joyce’s memory to Up With Trees, 1102 S. Boston Ave., Tulsa, OK 74119.
