Obituary
Johnathan Samuel Norwood was born November 28, 1972, in Bartlesville, OK to Samuel and Carolyn Mae (Junk) Norwood and passed from this life on November 9, 2023, at the age of 50.
John was a kind, caring, adventurous man who loved to travel, eat good food, listen to music and go to concerts. He was an avid fan of the band Phish, and the Grateful Dead. The most important moments of his life were spent with his best friends or as he liked to call them “framily”, and his favorite times were when he was spending time with his 2 daughters. John is preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents (Lila & John Junk, and Martha (Carmack) Norwood), and survived by his daughters, Kayleigh Norwood, and Abigail Norwood and a list of co-workers, friends, and extended family members. He will be greatly missed, and endlessly celebrated.
A memorial service will be held at the Ninde Brookside Chapel at 2:00 p.m. November 17th.

The picture for the obituary was taken in Inverness, Scotland, during a trip John and our family took in December of 2017. We started the day in Edinburgh, and ended it in a bothy at Inverness Glamping with Singleton in front of a wood fire stove. What the picture doesn't capture is the look he had on his face when, with egg dribbling down his chin (as he liked to say) from the breakfast sandwiches brought to us by the hosts the next morning, I reminded him that he still owed me for his half of the rental car. He loved to bring that up years later to watch me blush out of guilt. I've added the photo I took, but it never held a candle in his eyes to the one Nate took that same night.
