Joan B. Harrold

Joan B. (Merritt) Harrold was born September 25, 1930 in Gordon, CO to Andrew Jackson & Jane (Snedden) Merritt and passed from this life October 22, 2015 at the age of 85.

Joan was a long time Westside resident and enjoyed her house on top of the hill. She held jobs as a floral designer at a local flower shop, and also a binder at Tulsa Lithograph, but mostly loved her career as a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed caring for her gardens, especially her roses. Joan was always busy creating and crafting things. Her true passion and joy was spending time with her family. Whether on the river camping when her children were little, or a big holiday celebration with the entire family gathered in her living room, or even a quiet evening sitting around her table listening to your stories.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bruce Merritt and Herbert Merritt; and her granddaughter, Robin Campbell. She is survived by her children, James Nobles and his wife Gayle of Tulsa, Chuck Harrold and his wife Paula of Beggs, Tink Harrold and his wife Tamara of Beggs and Iva McIntosh of Tulsa; her sisters, Carol Bell, Sandra Merritt, and Charlotte Wiggins; her brothers, Timmy Merritt and Richard Merritt; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Joan will lie in state 10-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and a graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
