Jerry Conrey

Jerry J. Conrey was born January 30, 1938 in Monett, MO to William Joseph and Mary Aquinas (Fenton) Conrey. He passed from this life Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Tulsa at the age of 71. Jerry grew-up in Monett where he graduated from Monett High School in 1956. He attended college in Joplin, MO. Jerry worked for the Frisco, later Burlington, Railroad in Monett and transferred with the railroad to Tulsa in 1957. He left the railroad industry in 1972 and began working for Congressman James R. Jones as his district manager until 1984. He took over Admiral Tag Agency and within 5 years brought it to the number one producing tag agency in the state and operated it until the time of his death. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Joy Sue Compton; his daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Kevin Haberstroh of Maui, HI; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Tina Conrey of Kaiser Slautern, Germany, Sean and Kim Conrey of Marietta, GA, Blaine and Kelly Conrey of Okinawa, Japan, Keegan Conrey and his fiancé, Allison Strouse of Tulsa; brother and sister-in-law, William and Karen Conrey of McPherson, KS; and, 7 grandchildren. A wake will be held 7:00 PM Monday at Ninde Brookside Chapel and a funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Holy Family Cathedral. A family committal will follow at 3:00 PM in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Monett, MO. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in Jerry's memory to the American Cancer Society, High Plains Division, Inc.
