Obituary
Jerald Scott Clapp was born July 10, 1967 in St. Marys, OH to Larry Leroy Clapp, Sr. & Norma Carol (Cline) Clapp. He passed from this life on February 21, 2018 at the age of 50.
Jerald grew up in Detroit Michigan and graduated from Osborn High School in 1985. He moved to Tulsa Ok, in 1990 where he worked in the rubber industry for Fo-Mac and later Barlow & Hunt. In 1996 he changed career paths and moved to the appliance industry where he was hired on with Whirlpool and remained employed there for over 22 years, until death. He loved being around family and enjoyed good music, sports especially baseball, and science. He was as man of Christian faith and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He believed strongly that all men should be treated as equals, regardless of race, religion or social status. He was a hard worker and a devoted husband and father. His physical presence will be truly missed but his spirit and laid back, gentle perspective on life, will live on forever in our hearts. We love you Jerald!
Preceded in death by his father, Jerald is survived by his mother Carol Clapp; his wife, Latresa S. (Johnson) Clapp; his children, Olivia (Clapp)Keo (Son-in-Law Jovi), Devontae Johnson and Jerica Clapp; two grandchildren, Elleni Johnson and Jackson Keo; his brothers, Larry Leroy Clapp, Jr. (Wife Debra Lynn) and Brent Clapp (Wife Melissa); In-Laws: Johnnie C. Johnson, Joann Johnson, Lawhalon Johnson, Lafeyella Hill (Husband Tony) Antionette Vincent and Raychael Johnson and a whole host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Antioch Baptist Church on Saturday, March 3rd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in his memory to: American Cancer Society.

First, my deepest condolences to Jerald’s family. Jerald was an amazing person and great friend. We first met at Mason Elementary in Detroit. We were best friends back then, making Tomahawks from rocks, sticks and vines on the playground. That friendship means the world to me to this day and is the reason I took to the internet to find him. Unfortunately finding he has since passed. RIP my friend, you have been, and will remain, in my heart!
