Obituary
Jamie Lee (Hancock) Evans was born December 11, 1956 in Tulsa, OK to Hull Huggins & Vannie Lee (DeArmon) Hancock and passed from this life on November 18, 2016 at the age of 59.
Jamie was a longtime member of Spirit Life Church in Tulsa. She was a cheerful giver of her time and resources. She loved our Grandchildren and enjoyed shopping for them more than shopping for herself. Jamie loved animals. All three of our dogs were rescued by Jamie. She was an accomplished pianist. She loved to play and loved music. Jamie enjoyed watching NFL Football. She recorded every game and watched them at her leisure. Jamie loved flowers and working in our garden. She made sure we had fresh plantings each change of seasons. She was a good cook, which she inherited from her mother. Thanksgiving dinner was her gift to our family. Christmas was her favorite time of the year and she made sure it was special for everyone around her. She will be missed this Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Preceded in death by her parents and her sister Marsha Thayer, Jamie is survived by her husband, Robert Edward Evans; her step sons and daughters-in-law, Ron & Cathie Evans and Randy & Michelle Evans; and her four grandchildren, Katie, Ryan, Grace & Lily.
Niche side services will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery Creekside Columbarium.

Jamie was my cousin on our father's side of the family (Hancock). My father, Bill, and family moved from Tulsa to Dallas in 1951. Bill was the second oldest of the four Hancock brothers. Jamie's father Huggins was the third in age. Over the years we lost track of Hug's family including Marsha and Jamie. I am ashamed to admit that in reading Jamie's obituary I have learned more than I have previously know about Jamie in her adult life. We don't get re-dos in life, but I now sincerely regret allowing myself to lose the connection to my Tulsa relatives. Please forgive me, Jamie. I would have enjoyed knowing you and having you in my life. Rest in eternal peace in our Lord's paradise, sweet cousin. Love.....Mickey
