James Lee

James H. Lee age 82, passed away April 24, 2007. He was born in Soperton, Georgia June 28, 1924 to Tullie Lee and Arie Pricthett Lee. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Force in WW II he attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas briefly was grausted from the University of Oklahoma in 1949. He was employed by the Happy Company in Tulsa for three before leaving to become a partner in establishing Smithco Engineering and air cooled heat exchange company serving the petroleum industry, in 952. He retired as President of the company in 1982. Following retirement he served 17 years as a volunteer in the Rehabilitation Department at Hillcrest Medical Center. On March 23, 1946 he married Dorothy Marple of Sherman, Texas and they recently celebraed their 61st anniversary. He had been an active member of the Braden Park Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home a daughter and her husband Kathryn and Jeffrey Jackson of Yuba City, California, a brother and sister in law Harlon and Jean West and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Ninde Woodland Chapel, 5757 S. Memorial. Funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. in the Braden Park Baptist Church 5th & Yale.
